As part of implementing the vision of Smart Bangladesh, we will set up 8 to 10 earth observatories of our own, defense, and security satellites within the next four years.

State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak conveyed the matter while addressing the general discussion on the budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 in the budget session of the Jatiya Sangsad on Thursday (June 20).

Speaker Shirin Sharmin presided over the session while Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was present.

At the beginning of the 18-minute speech, State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak presented a video presentation titled 'The story of changing the day of Digital Bangladesh'. He said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman laid the foundation of modern information technology and telecommunication by taking membership of the Universal Postal Union in 1971, ITU membership in 1972 and setting up Betbunia Earth Satellite Station in 1974. Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fulfilled the dream by launching Bangabandhu-1 satellite on May 12, 2018. At present, 20 satellite TVs of India, Bhutan, Nepal and neighboring countries, including 40 satellites of the country, are running through Bangabandhu-1 Communication Entertainment. A letter of intent has already been signed with France for launching Bangabandhu-2 satellite. This satellite will play a role in security and environment development and city and urbanization.

"We have received directives from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to work on four pillars in the Smart Bangladesh journey of 2041. Our smart citizens will not only be highly educated or financially stable, but also will be developed as progressive, non-communal, creative, patriotic, inspired by the spirit of the Liberation War and problem solvers. The Smart economy will be cashless, transparent and digitally interconnected. Smart government will be paperless, corruption-free, and faceless; All government services will be available on our smartphones. The smart social system will be Bangabandhu's discrimination-free, and inclusive; Where the distance between the city and the village will be too much, and no discrimination will prevail between men and women.”

He said investors from all over the world are interested to invest in Bangladesh's future smart economy. The Prime Minister said, 'Development is visible, employment will increase this time', considering that, we have taken initiatives to create future self-employment opportunities by arranging training for at least one son or daughter of 5 lakh families under the Smart Employment Entrepreneurship Development Project in all the parliamentary constituencies.

Regarding budget GPT, the state minister said that if you visit www.gbrainbd.ai ask AI from this web address, any questions and instructions about the budget of Bangladesh will be available. We want to build a smart parliament in the future.
